Classroom News for the Week of March 31


News and Upcoming Events:

* Monday 3/31 is the Cesar Chavez Holiday - School is closed.

* Tuesday 4/1 March Reading Calendars due

* Student authored books (tale tales) - Please turn in order forms whether you plan on ordering additional copies or not. You may also submit a photo of your child for the cover, or I will use one of my copies of his/her school picture.

* Thursday 4/3 Field trip to Ranch Santa Ana Botanical Gardens. Students need a lunch from home and a snack. We will be outside all day, so please dress accordingly.

* Friday 4/4 Grade 4 Learning Fair: Shapes and Transformations. A huge thank you to our volunteers: Sue, Jeffrey, Eladio, Nicole, and Blanca!

* Friday 4/4 Science Test

* Access to the Smarter Balance Practice Test closes APRIL 1

You can use the link below to take the practice test. You will automatically be registered as a GUEST with a password. You just need to:

1. Click "Sign In"
2. Select the grade
3. Select practice test subject area (math/ english language arts)


Items Needed:

Drinking straws (any color; regular size) 
Masking tape
Please send items on Tuesday if possible.

We will be finishing the (Newbery Award Winning) gold rush adventure, By the Great Horn Spoon, By Sid Fleischman; Answering text-dependent questions.

Social Studies: The California Gold Rush continued. "Boomtowns and Ghostowns: A Look at Bodie, California."

Physical Science: Electricity and Magnetism Quiz on 4/4.
