Classroom News for the Week of May 30th

We are collecting newspapers, straws, and masking tape to use in a project. Please send in any of these items this week. The more the better! Thank you!
  • Literature Circles & Homework:  Each night students will have assigned reading and a brief assignment to prepare for the next day's discussion. Students will have a chance to begin this homework in class. 
  • Library: All library books from the MWE library must be returned. If your child has lost the book, please contact the school librarian and look for a notice on the fine/replacement fee.
  • Instruments: Return all orchestra instruments asap 
  • 6/8 "Wiley and the Hairy Man" DATE CHANGE! Rm 12's Informance of "Wiley and the Hairy Man"will be on Wednesday, June 8 at 9:30 a.m. in the MPR. Please come see the theater skills the children have been honing this year with Ms. Beret. 
  • Minimum days- school gets out at 12:50 on 6/7, 6/8, 6/9, and 6/10
  • 6/10 Last Day of School!

Classroom News for May 23rd

This week we are collecting newspapers, straws, and masking tape to use in a project next week. Please send in any of these items this week. The more the better! We can also use about 10 -15 feet of rope. Thank you!

  • 5/27 Field trip to Natural History Museum. Students should wear their trip t-shirts and bring lunches and snacks from home. Using reusable lunch containers is fine. 
  • Literature Circles & Homework: This week we will begin Lit Circles. Each night students will have assigned reading and a brief assignment to prepare for the next day's discussion. Students will have a chance to begin this homework in class. 
  • Library: All library books from the MWE library much be returned this week. 
  • 5/30 Memorial Day - School Closed

Classroom News for the Week of May 16

Thank you all for the incredible dinners, succulent plants, kind cards, and the gift certificate to Run With Us! You all made Teacher Appreciation Week very special for me and my family. Thank you for your generosity!
  • SBAC Testing Dates:  5/16, 5/17, 5/18. We will be testing at the start of the day, prior to the recess break. Please help by making sure your child is rested, has had a nutritious breakfast, and is on time.
  • 5/19 Open House 6 to 7 pm. We look forward to seeing you! This is an early dismissal day. Students will be dismissed at 12:50 p.m.

Classroom News for the Week of May 9

  • 5/9 One minute speeches due. Time yourself, practice, practice, practice, and memorize your speech!
  • 5/10 Volunteer Tea  2:45 MPR
  • 5/13 Living History Museum: Students will be presenting their Famous Californian Research- The "Museum" will be open Friday, May 13th from 1:15-2:15 in the MPR. We hope you can visit and see the results of the students' hard work!
