Classroom News for the Week of April 4th

News and Upcoming Events:
  • Intervention Classes - Class are Monday and Wednesday at 2:40 for selected students. Last class is 4/13.
  • Living History Museum: Students will be presenting their Famous Californian Research- Save the date: The "Museum" will be open Friday May 13th from 1:15-2:15 in the MPR. We hope you can visit and see the results of the students' hard work!

What's Going On This Week In Class:

Math:
Decimals: Expanded Form and Comparing and Ordering Geometry: Angles; Classification of Polygons
Multiplication Madness (Fact Practice) 

Reading:

This week we will finish reading By The Great Horn Spoon. Students will be taking AR quizzes and finishing their work from the unit.


Guided reading on John Muir; Practice finding Main Idea

"Genre Genius" goals for the 3rd reporting period.


Writing:

Response to Reading (Journal Entries); Research and note-taking for Famous California Project; Revising paragraphs for unity

Classroom News for the Week of March 28th

News and Upcoming Events:
  • Intervention Classes - Class are Monday and Wednesday at 2:40 for selected students.
  • 3/28 School Closed for Cesar Chavez Holiday
  • URGENT - 4/1 Field Trip To Autry Museum -We need at least 1 chaperone for this trip, currently we have none assigned. Our class will be taking this trip solo (Rm. 11 will go on another day), therefore it is very important we have at least one other adult to help supervise. Please be prepared to ride the bus with the students and help supervise. Our trip is from 11 am until 2:30. Please email me if you would like to attend (slc5001@lausd.net).
  • 4/8 Science test - Study Notes will be sent home Tues 3/29
