Classroom News for the Week of November 11th


SCHOOL HOLIDAY: 

There is no school on Monday on November, 11th in observance of Veterans' Day.

EARLY DISMISSAL: 

This week's schedule has been adjusted to accommodate parent conferences.
Tuesday- Friday School begins at 8:11 and gets out at 12:50. Brunch will be served in the cafeteria from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m.

PARENT CONFERENCES/ REPORT CARDS:

Parent Conferences will be held this week. Due to the number of conferences and the short school week, conferences will be limited to 15 minutes and one conference per child. I look forward to meeting with each of you.


REMINDERS: 

* Please make sure to check and sign your child's Homework Log each evening.  

* Check out the class garden bed outside of room 17. Wow! Thank you Garden Team!!!



What's Going On This Week In Class:


Math: 

Topic 9: Fractions

Fact Practice: "Multiplication Madness" (daily, 1 min. multiplication fact practice). Please work with your child to help him/her memorize facts x1-x12.

Writing:

This week we will  be taking a district-wide writing assessment. Students will be asked to write an opinion essay based on an article they will read in class.

Identifying and writing with conjunctions.

Reading:

This we week we will finish reading, Bud, Not Buddy. Students will begin working on a final project  for the book as well as a writing piece.

Greek and Latin Roots Homework:
