Great News! The two 4th grade classes now have a dedicated cart of 36 Chrome books to use in class.  In the past, our class has been able to use a cart only once per week as it had to rotate among many classes. This gives us many new options for using technology in the classroom.
In preparation, please make a Khan Academy account for your child by Tuesday, 9/24. Thank you!

1. Go to khanacademy.org/join
2. Enter class code: 8M8PDZNE
3. Create a username: Please use your child's initials and a 4 digit number for his/her birth month and day.
Example: Maya Anne Angelou April 4, 1928 would be: MAA0404
4. Password: goroom12

All set! It will be very helpful for your child to have small pair of earbuds in class. If possible please have them by Friday 9/27.

9/30 Unassigned Day - School closed

10/9 Unassigned Day- School closed

10/17 Field trip to Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Garden
  • Students visit hands-on stations to learn how local California Indians used native plants. There are 2 chaperone spots left. This all-day trip takes place outside and involves moderate walking on dirt paths. If you are willing and able to supervise a small group of students, please email me at slc5001@lausd.net. Chaperones will be assigned first come/first serve.  Chaperones will need to drive/carpool in private cars with their children.

Please make sure your child is at school and in line by the 8:06 bell. We try to start the school day at 8:11 promptly. Thank you for your help!

Please check your child's Homework Log nightly and sign or initial after the work has been completed. Remind your child that completed homework and the HW log are due in class daily.
