Fairy Tale Assignment:
These are wonderful! I've read a bunch and have added my comments. If you haven't received my comments yet, expect them no later than Wednesday.

Once you receive my feedback, consider it.
You can accept or reject my comment by clicking on the ✔ or the X. Continue to revise and edit your story. When you're very happy with it, move on to illustrating (see below).

If you haven't finished typing yet, try to finish asap and email it to me like this:
  • Open your document.
  • In the top right corner, click on blue bar that says SHARE.
  • Enter my email in the box (slc5001@lausd.net).
  • Click on the pencil icon and click on "Can comment"
  • Hit send.

Illustrating and Finishing Your Book

You have some options:

1. Less tech option: Print your story. Use plain white paper to draw and color your illustrations. Use markers, crayon, colored pencil, water color - your choice! Insert these pages in between your typed story.

2. More tech option: Draw and illustrate your pictures on paper, take photos of your illustrations, use Insert ↠ Image to upload them into your document.

Your finished fairy tale should have:
  • A cover (Title and author, illustration)
  • A typed story
  • At least 3 illustrations
Staple your pages or use one of the creative book binding methods found in this video -

Reading - By The Great Horn Spoon (BGHS):

Read 2 chapters each day and complete the comprehension questions using complete sentences. You may write your answers on another sheet of paper as the worksheet does not provide much space.

Bonus: Use a map of the world to track Jack and Praiseworthy's journey to California.
Fill in country names, oceans, and port cities as you go.
Print this one:
https://www.waterproofpaper.com/printable-maps/world/map-of-the-world.pdf
or draw a map of your own.

Grammar, Spelling, and Vocabulary:
Complete 2 pages a day from the workbook you received. Work neatly.

PE:
Exercise every day: push-ups, sit-ups, dance, hike, jump! Make a new routine, create a new trick, or practice an advanced skill.
Here's some inspiration for you (check out the freestyle section!):

And:
1. Read self-selected material each day.
2. Make art! Draw, paint, build. You can still access your Maker' Empire account.

Here's a nice tutorial from art teacher Patty Fernandez on drawing a clipper ship ( the type of craft featured in BGHS):
