Classroom News for the Week of March 30th

Updates: 

SKIES LEARN

 This week we will continue to learn to navigate skieslearn.com. Each day I will post a short assignment. This should take you about 10 minutes to complete. Log on each day (between 8:30 and 10 if possible) and complete the prompt. 

Here's how to get on:
  1. Using Chrome or Firefox, visit skieslearn.com.
  2. Press the red “Continue with Google” button and log on using your lausd mymail account and password (goroom12).
  3. Choose a SKIES username: use your first and last name and a number (only if necessary) for example: safiniconvey9
  4. Click “Register Account.”
  5. At the upper-left corner, click Enter Code:

ZOOM Meetings

 1. Each student will be assigned a time to meet with me and other classmates on Zoom. 

 Students should log into google with their LAUSD mymail accounts on Monday to find their email from me which contains: meeting time, join code, passcode.

 To acces your email: Log in just they way you have been for google docs or google slides.

  • Use Google as browser
  • Click on 9 gray circles in top right
  • Click on Gmail
  • enter mymail address; password: goroom12 
2. Create an account at lausd.zoom.us or zoom.us

 * Students, if you can't make your time, email me, but this week I will not be able to switch your time.


This Week:

 1. Finish working on your packet and log in to SKIES each day.
2. Work on fairy tale illustrations.

* Less tech option: Print your story. Use plain white paper to draw and color your illustrations. Use markers, crayon, colored pencil, water color - your choice! Insert these pages in between your typed story.

* More tech option: Draw and illustrate your pictures on paper, take photos of your illustrations, use Insert ↠ Image to upload them into your document.

Your finished fairy tale should have:
  • A cover (Title and author, illustration)
  • A typed story
  • At least 3 illustrations
